Description
2020 has been a year full of challenges, and it can be an opportunity for kids to reflect back on their memories, successes, and growth before the new year begins. This resource includes both a printable paper version and also digital Google Slides for distance learning. Students write their reflections on the lenses of the sunglasses.
Some ideas for what to have them write on the lenses:
-One lens could begin with the sentence frame: In hindsight, 2020 was ________.
-A favorite memory from 2020
-The biggest lesson they learned in 2020
-Something they will always remember about 2020
-Something they are looking forward to in 2021
They paste the sunglasses onto a face template. Kids can use paint, crayons, colored pencils, markers, etc. to color the face. Back them all on brightly colored construction paper, and it makes for a festive bulletin board! You may also choose to use their sunglasses writing/art page as a cover for a booklet with more writing pages inside.
This download comes with:
-2 different sets of paper sunglasses templates (with or without lines, for writing and/or illustrating)
-2 different paper face templates (boy or girl)
-Writing and illustration pages with prompts for students to reflect back on the year (see the preview for writing prompts)
-Bulletin board letters that can be cut out to spell: “Hindsight is 2020” (4 different style options)
-A digital Google Slides version for distance learning. Comes in color with various skin tones and hair colors for the faces. Students can type directly onto the slides.
