Description
A fun and engaging Thanksgiving activity for students to practice writing an opinion paragraph.
It can be done together in class or sent home as homework or a project to be completed with parents/families. A digital Google Slides version for distance learning is also included. Students are given the following writing prompt: Thanksgiving is on the way, and the poor turkeys do not want to turn into the main course! In your opinion, what disguise should a turkey wear in order to escape turning into food on Thanksgiving? Students brainstorm a disguise for their turkey, complete an outline/planning page and rough draft, edit/revise with a checklist, and write a final draft. They also do a craft where they create the disguise on a paper turkey. For distance learning, they could also digitally disguise a turkey by using digital drawing tools and inserting their own clipart/images.
