Description
Having a Star of the Week or Star Student to spotlight in your class each week is a great way to build community and student self-esteem, as well as encourage leadership responsibilities in the classroom.
This resource includes detailed instructions and suggestions for what you can do in your classroom for your Star of the Week. Every Friday, you can have students brainstorm compliments about your Star of the Week. Students then use the included writing pages to write a compliment and illustrate a picture for the Star of the Week. All of the pages can be put together in a book for the Star of the Week to take home.
The Star of the Week may also decorate a poster to be hung up in the classroom all week long (poster not included with this download- many are available for purchase on Amazon or in teacher stores, or you can have students can make their own on regular poster board). The download also includes a parent letter to send home explaining that their child is the Star of the Week and when to decorate/return the poster.
