My FAVORITE end of the year activity to pair with

My FAVORITE end of the year activity to pair with “”A Letter From Your Teacher on the Last Day of School”” 📖

Do a read aloud of the book, and have students make and decorate their own “mailboxes” (simply color and cut out the templates, and they can glue them onto any container you like...paper lunch bags, gift bags, or shoe boxes work great) 📫

Then have students write notes (similar to a yearbook-signing message) on these postcards to their classmates, and they all deliver their “mail” on the last day of school.

As an extra special delivery, you could choose to give students some teacher mail too (a letter from you, and/or the mini books for end of the year student gifts) 💌🎁

These mailboxes (filled with letters from their class family) make for a treasured keepsake for students to get to take home with them on the last day of school!

This Earth Day activity is super flexible—go as creative or as simple as you’d like! 💚

If you’re feeling artsy, try a fun painting method with common materials (liquid glue, food coloring, wax paper, and Q-tips). Kids think it’s the coolest thing!

Want something even easier? This is as low-prep as it gets...just print and have students color in the earth template! 🖍️

For the hands 🤗 you could offer a variety of skin-tone colors of paper so students can choose what represents them best for tracing.

Or they can trace their hands on white paper and color in the hands with skin-tone color crayons! My go-to supplies are “People Colors” crayons from Lakeshore Learning or “Colors of the World” from Crayola ❤️

I was so happy and proud to be here to celebrate m

I was so happy and proud to be here to celebrate my former teaching partner at a school district ceremony last week.

She received her pin for 20 years of teaching in the district! 🍎🎉

And we’re thankful that the majority of those years were spent teaching next door to one another 👯‍♀️ through all the highs and lows of teaching, and everything in between.

She’s the type of partner I wish every teacher could be lucky enough to work with- I’m grateful to have her as one of my closest friends, and as the godmother of my daughters 🩷 and just couldn’t be prouder of her!
