Your new students can get to know each other and build classroom community during back to school time with an engaging Get to Know You Jenga game! This set contains ready to print “All About Me” questions. Editable cards are also included so that you can create and customize your own personalized questions.
Examples of questions on pre-made cards: “What is something new you want to learn at school this year?” and “If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?” (see the preview for more).
These cards are to be used with this color Jenga set of blocks and dice: Lewo Wooden Stacking Board Games Building Blocks for Kids.
The game can be played with partners or a small group. Students take turns rolling the color dice. For whichever color they roll, they select a card with that color. They read the question aloud, and everyone in the group answers the question (you can choose to have them record their answers on their recording sheets first before sharing aloud, or just share verbally without writing). The student who rolled the dice gets to move a Jenga block that matches the color of their card.
There are 2 versions of the pre-made question cards. One set provides answer stems so that students can practice answering questions in complete sentences (great for future writing practice)! If you prefer not to have the answer stems, the other set has the questions only.
This downloadable resource comes complete with:
-Teacher guidelines & game instructions
-2 options for student answer recording sheets (one titled “Back to School Jenga” for the beginning of the year, and one titled “Friendship Jenga” in case you are introducing the game later in the school year).
-2 sets of color-coded pre-made game cards, one with answer stems and one without
-Editable color-coded game cards for you to customize your own questions
