Description
This math game creates high levels of student engagement and rigor while helping kids develop a deeper understanding of decimals place value. Using the classic GUESS WHO game boards, students ask yes or no questions to try and guess their opponent’s mystery decimal. It takes a lot of skill to not only formulate questions but also eliminate decimals based on their opponent’s answers. The games are perfect for math centers or early finishers!
*PLEASE NOTE* This resource is compatible with this specific version of the board game: Guess Who on Amazon. Other versions may have different dimensions for the flaps, and therefore the cards will not fit.
This download includes 5 game versions that can be used for differentiation or to switch out as your students progress through the school year:
-Decimals to the Tenths Place
-Decimals to the Hundredths Place
-Decimals to the Thousandths Place
-Mixed Decimals (Mix of Decimals to the Tenths, Hundredths, and Thousandths place)
-Mixed Decimals with 0 in the ones place (students can only rely on place value after the decimal point)
Each of the 5 versions includes:
-Game Board Decimal Cards (to fit into the game board flaps)
-Mystery Decimal Cards (contains the decimal that opponents are trying to guess)
-A “Cheat Sheet” (a visual reference sheet for students to use if they get stuck thinking of questions to ask). The more they play, the less they will need the Cheat Sheet!
Example questions:
“Does your decimal have a 6 in the hundredths place?”
“Is your decimal an even number?”
“Is your decimal greater than 2.5?”
“Does your decimal come between 5.5 and 5.75?”
Please see the preview for each of the game versions.
